I have worked with computers since I was a boy. Computers and gadgets have just always come easy to me. I started in high school helping in the computer lab and eventually in college I taught the lab portion of a computer class.
I have created and installed audio/visual multimedia systems in a number of public venues over the years. Some were simple and some included computers and a wide variety of peripheral devices.
I used to work as a Dell Certified Field Technician going to businesses and people’s homes to perform warranty repairs on desktops and laptops. I also worked on TVs as well. Next I worked in a computer repair shop for four years where I repaired and sold all types of computers running Windows, Mac, or Linux.
I most recently worked in the I.T. department of a company that has nine locations along the east coast of the U.S. I helped maintain the data center for the company and helped keep all the computers running.
I have often worked with people that knew very little about computers. I work hard to talk to people about computers using easy to understand language. I try to give simple examples when teaching someone to help them learn what they need to know. You don’t have to know everything about a computer. Just the part that you use regularly.
A former boss once told me we are all smart in some areas and dumb in others. A lot of people feel dumb when trying to figure out technology. I’m here to help you and I’ll never treat you like you are dumb. 🙂 . Hopefully, you will be smarter about computers or devices by the time I am done.
